Erik Prince is a Saint !

Now normally, the description of the very all American CEO of Blackwater would make me despise him on principal, " Erik Prince is a multi-millionaire right-wing fundamentalist Christian from a powerful Michigan Republican family." BUT after watching the Blackwater hearings today on CSPAN he deserves to be canonized. I have never witnessed such total and complete idiocy and stupidity from supposed grown professional men, and I have sat in many a boardroom and conference room. These hearings take the cake. Both the Republicans and the Democrats with a few exceptions sound like idiotic little boys all vying to see who is going to get more attention. The stupidest and most inane comment had to come from rep. Christopher Murphy, D-Conn. " I'm not a businessman." This was his preamble to demanding that Prince disclose the annual profitability of his firm on national TV. Like this would not hurt his competitive edge. Give me a break..If this is the calibre of the average American politician, its a complete mystery as to why America has not turned into a backwater state run by a group of petty tyrants. Oh wait..maybe it already has. I say all of this despising, religious right wing fundamentalists, but Erik Prince was indeed a very tolerant man.

Just noticed something...

to the right of this post is an ad---self made man--Quentin cordair--satisfaction guaranteed...Really I had nothing to do with this. Google places the ads...Way to go Google! There should be hundreds of women clicking away by this time....

How old are you

If you awoke one morning, and did not know what year you were born in-( No you cant ask your mother), how old would you be?
The preconceived notion of age vs responsibility is highly misplaced. Would you be 20? 30? or 80? or somewhere in between. Would you finally take those chances you always wished you had, but of course the voice in your head said..."You are too old for that! "
Age is the greatest form of control that a society can hold. Your behaviors and responsibilities are all supposedly tied to age. Why cant you drive at 14? Drink at 15--legally? Are you really too tired to stay out all night at 50, and watch the sun come up as you walk up your front steps? Or is it because you are expected NOT to?
Why is it that after adolescence the majority of us forget how to play? I truly mean play, not the twist to the word that means hey babe--wanna plaaaaay? Why is it so strange to see adults actually laughing in public? As a corollary why are we so amazed when a kid says something profound?
What would you do if you could be any age? There really is nothing stopping anyone from doing as they please, except of course the "age thing". I truly believe that the phrase 'S/he should know better at her/his age"should be blasted from consciousness.
Then again, I also really really abhor the trite pseudo psych self help gremlins who proclaim..age is only a number. To me that has always sounded like an apology.
Better yet, forget about the numbers, and just be.

A Blonde by any other name is still Dumb!

Now being a blond, I am fully within my rights to say this. If you stopped by my other blog, you would have been sent here, because--yours truly seemed to be unable to spell (granted it, it was after at least one glass of wine) when she set up "Impolite Company". That title is owned by another blogger, and this blond set up "Impolite Compay"...looking at that phrase right now brings some rather interesting ideas to bear, that I may explore here later.
